Will the following wheels fit on a CMC (69 vw) without rubbing? Also are all the 4 bolt patterns the same throughout the years of the old bugs. It is standard ride height.

VWC-135-601-025-P - STOCK STEEL WHEEL 15 X 5-1/2 4-BOLT ( 4-3/4 INCH BACK SPACING) - BEETLE 68-79 - GHIA 67-74 - TYPE-3 - READ SPECIAL NOTES ABOUT HUB CAPS!

Assume you have classic version vice the flared California CMC. Assume you aren't using larger than 195/60x15 tires. Assume you still have drum brakes (at least in back). YES

All 4 lug '68 up VW T1/T3/T4(411-412) and Porsche 914 have the same lug pattern - 4x130mm . Width of rims will vary from 4" to 4.5" to 5.5" x15." There is a difference in the offset of VW vice Porsche rims too - don't recall the mm though (is it offset is 39 vice 44 mm?). Offset is different from backspacing though. 5.5" in rear can be tight on a lowered vehicle pushing the max tire size.

I didn't look at your cars photos (oops none there yet) but its rare to see a Speedie that hasn't been lowered. Unlowered you can see the tops of the tires pretty much in the wheel wells. And it won't handle well at all. When you lower they tend to hut at the top rear wheel well - and most replicas have slightly different clearance at either size due to non-asymetrical mold and careless measurement when bolting to chassis.

Check out tpnuckels photos - he's tried about every wheel going save Borrani wire wheels.
