Hi, I recently purchased a CMC Speedster (waiting on paper work then delivery soon after) and am contemplating putting 17" x 7" BRM's on it. I was wondering if anyone has clearance measurments for front and rear. The 17" BRM's have a backspacing of 5 5/8".

I am going to convert the front drums to discs, and have a spare 2" narrowed beam that I could use on the front, therefore my biggest concern would be the back.

I tried searching the forums and knowledge base, and dispite stumbling into plenty of interesting and great information, I was not able to find the info I was looking for. If anyone could help, it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Adam

if it isnt a wide body - no way 7" will fit.

i have 5.5" steelies with 185-60's and i had to narrow my rear trailing arms. i could now fit probably a 215 or a 225mm wide rear tire, but am going for a specific look with the 185.

search Thesamaba.com/forums for "narrow 101". i posted a bunch of pictures of the IRS narrowing.

there is no easy way to do it.

also - if i were you, i'd photoshop some 17" new beetle BRM's on the speedy first. i can't see that looking right, IMO.

Good luck
