Will Nipple style hubcaps fit 4 lug or only 5 lug

Will Nipple style hubcaps fit 4 lug or only 5 lug only.....I remember we have a member from the Netherlands who said you have to modify a little bit but can not find history on it and if so how do you modifiy?

Read the post in general technical from Andy Burger it explains how to. Or you can just buy the hub caps for 4 lug wheels in most VW mags and just get the crests from Tweeks or Performance. I use the 4 lug nipple caps on my car and just like the way they look better. Just my opinion. I have modified some 5 lug caps and they work fine. Got a set from classy356.com they were ok and cheaper than the other two distributors. Good luck. If you want to see what my car looks like contact me directly.

The difference is that the original 356 type modified to fit 4-lugs look more original in the way they fit, e.g., there is no flat lip around the joining circumference. The lip is a dead give-away to anyone who knows Porsches, but of course so are the Mangel wheels with 8 holes instead of 10.

I'm less interested in my car looking totally original than in it being a better car in every way, which is why I got a set 4-lug cast Mahle and 4-lug forged Fuch wheels to try. Prettiest wheels on the car (to me, a purely subjective thing) wins.

I also don't care that my heater control, parking brake lever, and turn indicators don't look "real" as they work much better than the ones on my old 1956 Speedster ever did.

If anyone is looking I found a local VW shop that will order 4 bolt Nipple Porsche Emblem without the words porsche on the emblem for 21.95 each. Juts thought i would share.
