I know most of the speedsters on this site don't have side windows, but everyone seems have been around VWs for awhile. So hopefully, someone may know a solution.
The project I'm working on today is figuring out how to get my window winder handles to look more in line with the rest of the car. Right now I have what look to be Vanagon handles on my winders, I ordered the early VW winders and of course they are way different. No screw to hold them on, but instead use a pin in a groove, just like my early VW door handles.
I really don't want to replace the whole window mechanism, I'm not even sure of which type of VW regulator was used. Has anyone ever heard of an adaptor of late to early VW handles? Any idea if I was to break out my dremel an cut down the handles an put a grove on the regulator if the splines will line up?
Ideas?

2 baby files and the all mighty drimmial. Ita slow tedious by hand process. but I got it right on the first atemp.
I bought New regs from a suzuki dealer plus the seal plates the glass sets in.

If you were doing the intire converson?

You have to make a insert plate in the forward door openings so you have somewhere to bolt the reg into place, and a second 2inch wide in the rear opening to bolt the lower sizzer frame to . You also have to come up with 4 peaces of vw window channels .

Alcapp glass in New York. have a web site And still have copys of my window in there pattern stock for my D But you would be wiser to make your own patterns sence no 2 cars are alike. But they do excelent bead work and can make temperd glass for you .

AND they are very resonabley priced. If you can get the Brent Johnson Porsche book It has pictures of the porsche regs and parts helping you futher see what you need to do

Good Luck
