Windshield crack...need ideas fast

Lads, I just got word that my Speedster arrived in Sacramento intact except for a "crack on the inside of the windshield, passenger side". No idea how severe, no pics yet. We fly out to Sac this coming Saturday to head out on the big trip to Carlisle. Can anyone please advise on temporary fixes for cracks in a windshield ?
I can describe better after Dave sends pics, but does anyone have any guidelines, ideas, limits etc. for safe passage ? Thanks.

maybe get one of those crack repair guys u see on tv, dave should know someone.

The crack guys drill a minute hole at the leading end of a crack with a diamond drill and seal it with expoy. Sometimes they can fill a crack that is less than a dollar bill in length so it is 50% less noticable. Best thing to do is have a replacement glass arrive at Carlisle as it's a fairly easy install.

Dave Mitchell sent pics of the crack. Wow...inside layer of two is cracked fully from top to bottom on right hand side. He'll try to get a glass person to look at it today. No sense sending a windshield

There are several Speedster builders on that end of the country, you might be able to get one shipped to where your Speedster is located and have it installed before you leave.

Looks like the nearest chance of a replacement windshield is two business days away from Sacramento and it's now Friday afternoon. Not a good prognosis for the plan while playing chatch up. Two business days from now we'll be putting back a few on Pismo Beach. Henry responded with windshield advice very promptly and said drive the bugger as it is and don't sweat it....don't change anything on the road. We're outa here in less than 24 hours and will post progress from time to time on the Events topic page with a new thread. Sure looking forward to meeting y'all....see you in Carlisle !

David, ive had a crack on the inner glass of my windhsield for nearly 2 years now. While unsightly, it does not mess with performance. If it were the outer glass you would end up with water visible between the two layers after a rain.
