Well

I am making progress on my project but, I am having difficulty locating the Windshield Post Holes and the center divot mark is gone.

I need to put in my tounneau top snaps, and mount my windshield. Any ideas on how to measure this. Any one have one under construction in which the holes exist and send me a template w/ measurements.

Thanks,
Brian

When I did it I had the same problem. I have some info and measurements at home, I'll try to scrounge them up and I can email or fax you the info next week.

PS: I also got some help from an email from someone at JPS (I feel bad I can't remember his name) I should have a copy somewhere.

I made photo copy template available for the speedster windshield post placement. It is basicly an overlay for the top of the fender area........... email me direct @ drclock@hotmail.com

You can also choose to measure 3/8" to 1/2" rearward of the windshield wiper shaft mounting points.... placing the Forward edge of the windshield bottom trim at this measured point.

If the windshield is placed too "back" i.e. towards the driver, you'll play hell with a 3/8" gap under the center portion of the bottom windshield bottom frame.

Alan, Got your instructions thanks... Here is what I have done..

I put together the Windshield. Placed in on the car with masking tape all around. I stenciled in the windshield lower rubber to ensure the window was center and even. There was a small gap in the center rubber mount, but other than that it seemed to fit perfectly. I measured from there back to the posts.. measured the from the Wiper Slots back 1/2 inch.. The windshield seemed to fit perfect, other than a small gap in the center.

Then I measured your markings... it lined up perfectly. Then I removed the windshield and cut all the holes.. center and posts..

Then I placed the lower trim on at 1/8 inch back from outer line marking of lower windshield rubber.

Then I installed the Lower Trim on the new line and pop-riveted in place. Now I need to install the upper parts of the windshield rubber and trim and mount completely... I have some concerns though.

The Lower Rubber Mount appears to install on the Lower Trim piece, but what holds it in place for security and safety? Is the center post and end posts enough to hold in place? Seems not very sturdy or sound.. perhaps I am just nervous. Does that gap I noticed in the middle just have to do with the fact that the windshield does not really sit on the car but on the trim and the gap is normal.. that gap was about a 1/16".

Thanks
Brian
