Carrozzino - I used double-side tape to attach a small convex mirror to a suction-cup phone holder. I apply it to the inside of my windshield when I have my surfboard in the car. It eliminates any blind spot on the passenger side. It also works well with the top up and side-curtains installed. It can be easily removed (or attached) as warranted. No need to drill more holes in the car.

Carrozzino...Yes...I think it would work pretty nice. It would be just like that one shown in Caretech's photo above. It clamps onto the windshield frame. It has some thin high-density foam to help not scratch your frame. I can send you one of my prototypes at no charge plus $7.00 shipping. This way you have something to play with and see if it works for you. If it does, post some photos of how you did it and how it looks. How's that ?   I use PayPal and my email is bajadolphin7@yahoo.com      Bruce

Carrozzino...I only have one that is in original condition and another one that has been modified slightly.  You are welcome to use both. The shipping is the same cost for two. Recommend you take both as I think the modified one may work also. If the modified one doesn't  work and you need another , I will sell you a new production one. It looks just like the prototype but has a few internal changes. I don't know the price of the production model yet because they are being made as we speak. Let me know.

AMAZING !!!!!!!!......Carrozzino....What a great idea ! It looks like a natural way to mount the mirrors !! No drilling in the fenders or doors to mount a mirror either !  We could call them the "Carrozzino Mirror Mount"  I'm sure someone would like to know what your source is for the mirror.  Too bad that one of those brackets I sent you has a notch carved out of it. I'll send you a new one, when I get them, to replace that one. You'll find that the new ones are easier to mount because of an alignment groove incorporated into the two halves of the bracket. Also...I think it would look better if the clamp bolt was oriented on the inside where only you see it. ...just a suggestion.

Bill....Right now I have no desire to get into a wide body hard top...BUT....If my brackets would work for you, maybe Mr. Carrozzino could send you one of those prototypes that I sent him so you could play with it in your endeavors on the hard top ??

PS....Carrozzino....Your car is beautiful !!...........Cheers.......Bruce

Thank you Bruce. I was pretty surprised on how simple it was to adapt an aftermarket mirror to your bracket. I tried to use the notch on the one bracket so the mirror would sit a little lower. However the material that was cut away was not conforming to the arm I was using. I do have another set of mirrors coming and I will see if the arms on them are any better. I will keep this post updated as I complete the mock up. I drove my car to the office today and not sure they are adjust perfect. I might look to see if I can find a pear shape mirror to adapt to it so I have more of viewing surface. My goal was to see if I can fabricate something that would work good with the top up. If I find that I like this design and they work well then I will try to get a matching set if your new design brackets and build a final model. Please let me know how much a set will be when you get them back. I will try to flip the bracket around so the screw head is facing inward to see if it looks any better.

I think I might have post a confusing comment. I think Bill is building a hardtop for his 356. I was replying to him asking more about it. I would be more than happy to pass on the mocked up bracket to Bill when I have completed my design.

Bruce I think I’m going to let you have all the credit for the mastermind work on the bracket. All I did was adapt an aftermarket mirror to it with a little fabricating. I will be more than happy to supply you with my source for the mirror once I’m happy with the design. Feel free to market these as one of your own. I do like your door pull and think I might get a set after I get the car painted. Please keep me posted an any other creation you might have for the 356. My next project is to build a center console that will hide my wires and hold my air ride management controls.

Thanks again for the brackets.
