OK, let's have some options, here.

Integrated pump, or can you mount the pump remotely?

Rectangular, or round (cylindrically, like a long, round tank, say, 3 inches in diameter by 12 in. or so). Some Stirling's had a long cylindrical tank mounted inside the fender wall, but can't remember which ones. You might also consider, if you have a remote pump, something like a drink cannister (Rubbermaid?) suitably sized and mounted on the wall to the rear of the compartment with the filler on top and a fitting for the outlet tube running to the pump (like a NAPA external pump). These you can find at Walmart and the filler cover is screw-on and leak-proof (and the tank is milky-clear). They come in different sizes (and colors - you could coordinate!)

Not sure about the VS configuration, but what about mounting it down in the well at the front, instead? You could fit a rectangular tank with integrated pump there (like a Honda CRV tank) or even outside the trunk behind a horn grill?

This is the kind of thing that, once you can visualize the space to fill, the next step is to stroll around a junk yard and see what you can find to fit the space (my wife doesn't understand the joy in junkyard strolling.....oh, well!)

This help? gn
Barry, you might participate in my favorite pastime.....no not that, this is a family forum. Just cruise the local junkyard, looking at every washer receptacle in each car until you find one of the configuration that you think will work best, take all of it the bottle, the pump, whatever you need.....cheap, and usually just what the doctor called for.

I redid the front trunk floor, it's now just like a 356a. So now the 195/65 on a 6x1/2 rim can go there, But their's no room for anything else. Im saving the inside spare hole for my jack kit

I,ve haven't been salvage sloothing in 3 years.
One more thing, here in NC they changed the insurance laws. not all yards will let you out on them.
I will have to do something soon. But a 3x5x12 would be perfect with internal pump. It on the driver side and a tool kit on the passager side of same approx. size would neatly use up the extra space.
Ooops! Just saw the part about the internal pump.......

NAPA may have something in their catalog that might fit, but probably the easiest and cheapest method would be Gary's and my best pastime - wandering through the local junkyards. Drive over there in the Speedster and park where they can see it, show them the placement spot and how it's tight, tell them what you're trying to do and ask if you can either wander out there looking and measuring or could they do the looking for you? That might work well!

Thanks George.
I've seen them and I seen how they fail over time.
My Dad's 63 Ford and 65 Mustang useed the same things. I have carpet in my trunk and so far it has passed the pressure washer test.
I know I want to dodge the leaky bag syndrome. They get hard a crack with time.
I did concider a hand made leather one but its just to expencive and Im not sure if their any better.
There is a famous spanish builder of speedsters that uses a bull scrotum mounted under the dashboard, and when needed the passenger squeezes it in time with the swishing of the windsheild wipers. The only downside is that the squeezing action has been known to cause the hood to accidently pop up. ( Where the hell did I come up with that????)
