Windshield Wipers (Black vs. Polished or Aluminum)

I'm thinking that a set of polished or aluminum wiper arms and blades would look much better than the black ones now on the car.

Has anyone ever changed out their wiper arms and blades for a set like I'm talking about, and where might I find them?

Also, how would I go about removing the current set on the car?

Wiper arms should come off easily, there may be a set screw holding them firmly on the shaft. I prefer black as the sun can glare off of the chrome/ aluminum arms.

A little tip:

When removing wiper arms lift the arm until the arm is inline with the axis of the shaft so the spring holds them in place. Use the arm for leverage as you wiggle it back and forth. It should come right off.

First determine what type of wipers you have, VW used four types depending on year, also DOT outlawed chrome because of sun flare off of them but all the Cobra guys have them second on a 356 silver painted or powder coated ones are correct, usually new ones are availble depending on year and model. Try Vintage Parts Inc. in Glendale Ca for new silver ones. 818 500-8778.
