So I get speedy back from the paint shop and along with all the other holes and fiberglss repairs they did, the filled my windshield mount holes! Yep - filled with filler and now I gotta drill those out and possibly scratch or drill wrong. Any advice on getting my windshield mount holes back? This one did NOT show up in the knowledge base!

Do you mean the holes along the bottom where the aluminum strip goes? Just drill new ones. Make sure you align the trim properly. When I got my car painted I had a auto trim shop install the new trim and windshield. Cost me $100.00 and it was tricky but he did a good job.

Why not get a new trim while your at it.

If you can just find 3 or 4 of the holes from underneath to help you line up the trim Then pencel mark the holes you cant find in the trim for a guide across the coul. Maybe that will work . Tuff call?

Some of these bodyshops Get my goat. when they do dumb things like that. I hate re working someome elses mess. I may now have to help a freind re touch up a classic car a local bodyshop Sc??wed up. Sand scratches, overspray. and they even got paint on the air box under the hood . And it a very poor color match.

Pittyful workmanship and thy charged $700.oo to mess it up. I give up! And the worse part, I warned him not to take it there.

Thats Real good news. In that case the template will be the ticket and because the post is a schose larger it gives you a little room for error. Use it to pencel mark the holes

Also try this take your thumb and press firmly on the ares you think the hole should be, the putty might pop though and problem solves it shelf.

DONT try that from the bottom side Your paint may break lose way past the hole on the top side making a big mess.
