If you want to try the custom route, you can try a set from Specialty Wipers. Their web site is: www.srbymichael.com/products/wipers/wipers.shtml

They can set you up with all the parts and instructions to "roll your own" to make sure they'll fit exactly. I installed a set (two-speed with washer) and they work just fine. Best thing is, everything's new, as opposed to a salvage yard assembly from a bug or Ghia and they are TOTALLY adjustable.

I have tried a few different appications (including custom street rod applications)on speedters ..The only way to go is a standard (non Super Beetle) wiper assembly. The one think I do is add a bored out heavy fender washers to the back side of the cowl where the posts go through the cowl to help support the rather heavy wiper assembly. ...be sure to als add a piece of soft rubber or dense foam glued to the side of the wiper motor where it rests against the fiberglass cowl when the wiper pivot posts are secured to the speedster cowl section. If you omit the foam you will get an amplified wiper motor sound against the fiberglass.
