Sounds mid-year Beetle arms (maybe shortened a smidge) are what you're lookin' for. Is the nut open or a large aluminum cap nut? The mid-year Beetles came with a painted cap nut that can be stripped and polished up beautifully, the late models had arms which would still fit your needs, but had recessed open nuts and black plastic caps over them.

I can take some quick pics if you like.

It is all becoming clearer now that I read the part description.

The wiper motor is a new Beetle one I bought from CIP 1.They list this as for a 67-77 Beetle and it is the same as the 66 and 69 Thai export model examples I have.
The motor assembly came with domed aluminium nuts to hold the arms on a small OD splined shaft. CIP says that while it fits earlier models, it is the direct replacement for a 73-77 and needs that year arms on earlier models.

The NOS CMC kit wiper arms are NAPA 51-255N. The arms are a silver-ish paint colour, no nut, and push on a larger diameter splined shaft like a US car.
There are no centralizing bushings in my CMC kit (what a surprise) so that is the problem

I could make some bushings for the wife's car, but the next one in line is for me and I need new arms.
Any more info on what Beetle arms can be used?

Anyone have CMC centralizing bushings?

My donor was a '72 and has the wiper motor listed above. It's connected to a dash mounted switch. Couldn't get the park function to work though.
There are two Bosch Passenger(right) arms with 10" Bosch blades on there. They have the little bend near the end of the arm. The driver's side(straight) arm won't work. Just noticed I'm missing the rubber seals that cover the shafts. No wonder they leak like hell.

Actually, CMC offered wiper assemblies as an option. I think they were $180 each.

I know, because I was fool enough to buy one as part of my kit and it became a BIG part of my settlement. They didn't have any, but the judge told them they had to supply something so they sent me a complete wiper kit (remote drive motor, cable drive to two arm hubs) from Specialty Window/Wiper down in Texas. Took a while to get it fab'd to fit and work right, but it's been great ever since.

I've never seen a CMC body without the dimples in the cowl for wiper hubs. That doesn't mean that some bodies went out without them, but I've never seen one. What I HAVE seen is a number of CMC's totally without wipers. The dimples are there, just no holes drilled and nothing installed.

CIP has a special note about adjusting the park position for the wiper assembly. I guess i will find out if my switch is compatible once I get it working, but in any case it is for emergency use only and I can time the turn off. I am tempted to go without buy the Authorities will like to see something and it can rain very heavily every afternoon this time of year.

The NAPA wiper blades supplied by CMC are 9" long and the arms are 7.25 from the stud to mounting point of the blade
Looks like Wild Bill has the right idea - what year are these?
