Hello everyone,

I'm going to be replacing my wiper shaft on the speedster. I find they are too short in length and the bottoms of the wiper arms are rubbing on the body. I believe they are off a 1967 beetle wiper assembly because they are not the thread on the top type. So I'm thinking of putting on the 1957 beetle style because they are longer. Just wondering if anyone is using this type on there speedster?

I think the issue may be that the windshield is located too far rearward ? ( Photo?)      Pull the wiper motor assembly out of the cowling , under the shafts there are washers and another pair of shaft nuts on the underside .   You may be able remove washer(s) this will raise up the shafts & slightly increasing the wiper arm to cowl distance.....or as mentioned above you could grind off a bit of the arm and repaint.
