This was a straightforward install except for one thing-every time I turn on my ignition the horn goes off.

This is on my Thing, but I suspect the wiring is very similar to a Beetle, so my question is directed to anyone who has installed an aftermarket set of horns.

Horns:  a pair of Hella Supertones

The old horn had two wires connected to it.  A black wire, with a yellow stripe and a brown wire.

When using a relay what did you do with these two wires and how do I figure out which one is the power wire?

I've got a power wire directly from the battery (through a fuse) to the relay and I have a wire from the horns directly to the relay.  I connected the black/yellow wire to the relay, but didn't to anything with the brown wire.  Do I need to ground that wire?

So the fused direct from battery goes to the Relay and the other side to the new horns positive.... from the other side of the horns to the Ground of the chassis...

From the original horn I took the power and went to the relay (switch side) and then the other to the other side which is the ground.

when you activate the horn button it activated the relay which allows Power from the battery to the horn..

I think I got it right.
