Finally getting around to wiring up my driving lights.  55 watt halogens, 6" diameter from ISPWest, no wiring kit, just 2 leads, a ground and power. Novice questions:

Correct gauge of wire?

Any perameters, suggestions for the relay?

Going to use an existing switch, toggle, already mounted where the dash meets the front pillar.

Best wiring route if it makes a difference?

20 amp fuse between the relay and the positive lead to the battery.

Thanks. Simple job, I have a diagram, just need to know the nuances of this.

Volts * Amps= Watts

55 w (your lights, each) * 2 = 110w (total of both lights) / 12 v= 9a draw. Rule of thumb is total load is fused at no less than 125- 150% of total draw, so your minimum fuse would be 15a (unless you wanted to try to find a 12a fuse, for some inexplicable reason). A 20a fuse would be a big plenty.

As Jason said, 12 ga would be fantastic (and over-sized), but 14a would be fine.

... and may I add this: Justin, you are a real asset to this site. I can't tell you how nice it is to have you posting. Seriously. In my opinion, new guys like you are returning this site to the informative, friendly place it once was, before it took a left turn into the absurd. Thanks.
