Ger-do you an idea as to what year that p/n is from? Scott
ADD-Try this 1st; it mainly covers VWoA (USA). At top of page choose VW "type", then proceed to year. I searched (a cursory search) around years 67-73 but couldn't find an exact match based on your wiring description. Anyway, I may have more links, but I'll have to look for them a bit later...

Hi Scott,

I think I've been thro most of those already, I couldn't find a match either !

The car originated in Florida, shipped here as an unfinished project. The pan is a '67 but I've no idea if I have the original column...Maybe I need to check colors again, my eyesight not as good as it was !

Gerry:

Mike is almost right, but on that year(s) the brown goes to earth ground, whilst the brown/wht goes to signal ground on the headlight toggle (hi/low) relay. They are actuated by pulling back on the directional lever. The rest are as he indicated. The gray and white leads are not used in a speedster.

I have a single page, coloured wiring diagram which I can scan and email, however I prefer to use the wiring diagram from a 1970, so I'll scan and send that, too.

OBTW: If you use the VW headlight toggle (hi/lo) relay AND the VW flasher relay for 1969-1970 it makes the wiring go much easier (less complicated).

I'll get the scans out tonight.
