1., I found a 'dangling' wire under my dash (black and white)that goes through a rubber tube into the trunk,on the left side of the steering wheel. It doesn't test hot with the switch on or off. 2, I tried grounding my test light several places but still was not able to indicate any juice from any fuse location. and 3, I notice that there is more space between the wheel and the fender on the right side than the otherside. Any ideas as to how to correct it?meade

Did you say the wire was connected to a switch of some sort?
Not sure but the driver side being lower could be because it is driven more often with just a driver and no passenger. But I might also be talking out of the side of my mouth and not really have any idea as to why.

Is your gas gauge working OK?
.
If you recall the previous owner of your car did a TON of rewiring and added wires/scotch locks/connectors/etc... so you had several wires that were not being used. What in your electrical system is not working?
Your wheel closer to the inside of the fender on one side is present in all of the older bodies. It is exactly as it was in the car that was copied (likely crashed). The chassis is square, so don't try to correct the aesthetics or you'll mess up the actual geometry.
This asymmetry issue exists on the CMI, too…
You could add a wheel spacer to the one side that sits in a bit further. They come in several thicknesses.
Do you have a fog light switch but no fog lights? Perhaps it went to one side of a fog light relay.
All of my gauges appear to be functioning but I think that one end of that black and white wire goes to the ignition switch; I'll check it tomorrow.
Cary, I never knew/thought that the car was hit...except when my brakes failed when I first got the car and I slid into the back of another car going 1.5 mph. Thje car doesn't favor one side or another and I just had the body aligned again (didn't need it).
Fog lights work...barely, never did.) THANKS ANYWAY GUYS.
I think Carey meant that original plug/mold was made from a previously damaged OEM Speedster.
That is correct, I was not saying that your car was wrecked Meade, I was saying that the original car that was copied was wrecked, thus you'll see this same variation in all Gen 1 bodies.
I'm a bit slow and I am just now catching up on Cary's statement...and I understand what he was saying ...now.
I got down and dirty and traced one of the dangling wires to the rear of the car and it's secured by bolt to my motor (?)I guess mit must be a ground.
I started on the other wire, but it started to rain ...supposed to snow IN ATLANTA tonight. I'll work on the other wire tomorrow. I also have a switched hot wire coming off the ignition switch and can't find what hooks onto it. This is where the fun lies in speedster ownership...
