Hey Joe, as with any accessorizing we do to our Speedsters, its always going to be a matter of personal preference.

I also think the VS/JPS rack has 'Replica' written all over it (figuratively speaking). It does not compliment the lines of the car. Your car looks awesome running without hubcaps and appears mildly 'outlaw', best without the rack. Put it on when you're packing for a road trip.

The Reutter rack certainly lends to a more authentic 'Touring' look. But then again, its a personal preference.

Without.  As Jim says everything is personal, though.  I haven't met a Speedster I didn't like...but I like mine best :-)

For me, the beauty of this car is that it's the essence of driving; simple, classic styling.

It's always tempting to try to add something to upgrade, but frequently, I think it winds up just detracting from the original beautiful design.

I don't let my wife wear makeup either, but why would I? ;-)

I heard a wide body referred to once as a "fat chick in a thong", and (with me anyway) it's kind of stuck. There are nice ones, but they're all fat chicks...

Fat chicks in thongs, racks..

Whoaaa how its deteriorated..

Now back on topic, I like the rack but think it needs to have the old suit cases etc. on them to really set the rack off.

And I like the wooden ski set..  On the rack with the period correct suitcase.

Then again the racks are handy to carry that little extra.....
