Google up p-motion or p motion, or even NARDI USA, click on Classico and order a matching Nardi knob from them. They supply them to the builders and so you can cut the shipping and possible add-on. Jeff is the owner.

Just looked it up. Here it is: http://www.classicowheels.com/

Click on Nardi... I ordered one from them about 5 years ago. They show they are in production and to call. You might look at Nardi's site in Italy to get the name of the matching knob. It has different inserts for different diameters and three allen screws to hold it in place.
Gerd,
Looking at your photos shows an Empi trigger shifter. Short in stance as well as a short throw. Black ball for a shifter with a trigger you pull up on to slide into reverse.
If you unscrew the shift knob you'll notice that the trigger slides up into the shift ball. This presents a problem when trying to use a traditonal shift knob. Make sure you call first when ordering a knob and confirm that it will work with your shifter.
Please let me know if you find one.
Confirmed with Henry that Intermeccanica has a wooden gear shift knob for the EMPI trigger shifter and he sent me a couple of pictures - it is really NICE! The price is $100 US plus postage. A little stiff for just a knob - but..... (Oops, I won't go there. Old guys have a tendency to let their minds wander where they shouldn't.)
