I've seen them on several cars, I just can't find the source.

Does anyone have, or know of a source for, a wood shift knob with the Porsche crest, that matches the Nardi Wheel (Color and shine), that fits a 12mm shift lever?

The Nardi shift knobs, at least the wooden ones with crests or insignias are by custom order for the most part. The top matches the wooden part of the wheel, but all of the ones that I've seen on Porsches have an aluminum base.
Betcha that one or more of the usual suspects carry an after market solid wooden knob that would come close to the Nardi grain and tone.
Hit the local search engine ("Porsche + shift knob") and Go Surfin', DUDE ! ! !

I ordered one from a company that also sells key fobs, it's been a while and I haven't heard from them but it was only $8! Got the idea from searching this site; I'll post the link as soon as I dig it up.
I doubt it will match the Nardi wheel but c'mon, its $8! I plan on doing surgery on mine (if it ever shows up) to make it fit an Empi trigger shifter.

I tried searching the net with Google and Dogpile.
Couldn't find a Speedster / 356 style knob.
There is a vender on Ebay, but the knobs don't have a gloss finish like the Nardi Wheel.
Maybe the Porsche Copyright police have been searching the net too...

Here's the place I was talking about; I'm calling them on Monday to check on my order. Since they never charged my card I may order two so I have a backup to play with, maybe strip and refinish it. I'm thinking that my order was lost somehow.

Stephan,
Shift knobs made in England with inset cloisonne for $8 and leather keyfobs that are hand handsewn in England with inset cloisonne for $4?
Wow, what a deal.
How long ago did you order yours?

I think it was a couple weeks, since I never got confirmation or was charged I am thinking the order never went through. Their website looks a little homemade anyway, probably should have called. A member here ordered one and was happy with it a while back.
Not really my thing but their picnic baskets look really nice too.
(edit) Looked up the thread; I think this is it right here:

Uh-oh, their tollfree number is disconnected. I sent them a fax and an email inquiring about my order, also mentioned that I knew some other people who would be interested. Fingers crossed!
Whatever happened to the old AMCO shift knobs? They were about $10 in either mahogany or black "p-leather". They also made aftermarket luggage racks. Assme they went belly up in mid-70s as you do see one occasionally one ebay as NOS.

The classic-sportscar.com shift knob is kaput. I was just contacted by the owner and his source is no longer available.
If anyone wants one of the nice picnic baskets from him I suggest you order by email.
So the search is back on.

Intermeccanica sells wood knobs with the Porsche emblem insert that match the Nardi wheel (including one that fits an EMPI trigger shifter). They're pricy (around $100), but you really get a top quality product. My wife questioned my madness at the time - but she has since admitted that it looks really good! I'm pretty sure there's a picture in one of the old strings..... If not, I'll shoot one and post.

Those damned Chinese Political Prisoners and the prison sweat shops . . . . SO unreliable ! ! !
Why they're probably being forced to make rattan furniture for The Christmas Tree Shop right now instead. Don't they know that America's MAD for shift knobs ?
After a long hard near death experience of a day in those "work programs" making chromed plastic "Paris Hilton"
necklaces and Malibu Barbi hair extensions for four year olds . . . they must think that we're ABSOFUC#INLUTELY insane.

While I'm sure thats the case with the emblem itself, the shift knob looks homemade to me. If you could find a bunch of cheap keychain or tie-pin porsche emblems you could turn those out by the dozen with a lathe and some sandpaper. I'm pretty sure thats what this guy is doing:

Here are a couple of pictures of the shift knob from Henry and the Nardi wheel. Remember, that this was for the EMPI trigger shifter - which presented more of a challege than the standard. The knob has a high gloss, close to the steering wheel, even though the picture doesn't show it.

Cal,
Nice knob.
Does it say "Porsche"?
The picture may have just washed it out.

Lester, yes, it has "PORSCHE" across the top of the emblem. If you want me to try to get a better picture, let me know. (I may also be able to dig up the picture Henry sent last year.)
