Wow, look at what is on the blocks

Anyone want to chime in on what they think this one may be worth? I think it is Marcos del Aguila's (unconfirmed). I am finding it hard to believe that 100k is what it would cost to build another one. I would imagine Rick Davis would be a great appraiser being his Porsche powered 356 is complete. If I had only won the lotto this last weekend....

I'm sure if you canvassed recent IM 6 car owners you'd find that 6 figures for a new project is where you should budget, plus wiggle room for upgrades. These are truly re-bodied 911's that go well beyond the normal high standard 4 cylinder IM with build times close to double the normal production time.
For me these cars put real meaning behind the slogan, "when you turn your car on... does it return the favor"?
Whoever steps up for this car is going to have a tiger by the tail and should be well prepared, financially and mentally.

I think that was the one that I got a chance to sit in and hear running at Carlisle in '05. Marcos was ecstatic over it, so I'm surprised he's selling so soon. I am also a bit surprised at $100K to build one.

If the "mid-60s" is where this car is priced at, that is a pretty darn good deal for an IM-6 with the 3.2 engine. The exchange rate is causing price increases, cost of parts is going up, the cost of steel is rapidly climbing.

I would guess that to duplicate this car would be in excess of 75K. I don't know what the recent IM-6s went for but they were all-out/full tilt dream cars and I would bet that their owners know it was worth every dollar.

Wait until you see the the next, and different interpretation Henry is working on for a SF Bay area guy.

These special cars are not for everyone, but I know I would if I could.

It was a drive in Marco's ride that put me on the IM 6 bandwagon. I "thought" I was going to build a Raby Type 4, I wanted the power and torgue. Marcos lives 20 minutes from me. It took all of two minutes of driving that Rocket that convinced me that it was a Flat 6 or nothing. IM cars are wonderful, getting more expensive to build due to the fall of the Almighty dollar. Rick and I and Matt Stoich ALL know the work that goes into one of these custom cars. Henry can turn out two 4 cylinder cars for every one of these Porsche sourced deals. Its labor intensive, time consuming to get it right. Whoever buys Marco's car will know what he's buying. 60-70k for that car is a BARGAIN. Garden variety shoppers will and should pass on this one. It is that special.

eBay is good exposure but as you read through this car's ad copy, you see more time and words are wasted trying to differentiate this custom built car from a 'kit'

Rick hit it on the head; call it a rebodied 911. Then go into this car's details and lots of pictures and it will still likely sell privately as eBay is mostly for bottom-feeders.

If $60-65K is the target price it's a sweet deal.
