Wow, new PGO site very nice

Wow, I just noticed that PGO of France has a new site:

Click on the "Full Screen" link under either model, a very impressive Flash presentation. These are really good looking cars, a nice evolution of where the 356 might have gone. Has anyone seen one of these in person? Any idea what the manuf. of the engine is?

I am in the beginning stages of doing a CMC over, some great ideas here. If I could get my hands on a PGO body, I would be a happy camper .

Judging by the photos of their assembly facility, and the fact they are public on a French stock market, I think they are a pretty serious outfit. Perhaps they would sell you a body?

Given their apparent size its odd you don't hear more about them?

I've emailed them to ask for more details, but from what I can glean they seem to use a Peugot engine, which is unfortunate for those of us on this side of the Atlantic...

It's toughh to call those replicas. They're really production cars built with a strong tribute to the Speedster. I'd LOVE to pull into Carlisle with one of those.

Wow that's an improvement on website. They are still a publicly traded company but they got a ton of cash from a Kuwait investment company.

Would have to tool my own version.

They can't be imported. Haven't passed USDOT safety standards...and probably wouldn't be able to.

...kinda like our Speedy's...

Man, I ain't much for the widebody thing, as I;ve stated many times before, I like to roll "old school" ;) - but that car is awesome! That car gots style! It's far enough removed from the speedster that it has a look all it's own, almost. I wonder what the ticket is for one of those?

If they really wanted to import to the US, they could. Cars like the Noble and the Superformance Daytona Coupe are complete cars (sans engine/transmission) that have not passed safety or emissions testing. Once here, the distributor can help the owner with the powertrain installation.

I bet they could sell quite a few if they aren't too $$$ prohibitive $$$. Way cool! I could sure be tempted. Certainly could be a number of power trains that could be adapted to it or vice versa if they really wanted to sell 'em here.

They forgot the step in the design process where you come up with an original body shape. I'm all for replicas but what would you guys think if this was the new Chrysler Sebring?

I still want one though.

there isnt a whole lot different as far as the body goes. I've seen the speedster mold and it would not be that complicated to modify it to accept the new beetle headlights and the 3rd brake light. the front and rear valances are custom, but they all fit within the general shape (meaning you could base a current mold off one)

Has anybody actually seen or driven a CSW? If so, please post ANYTHING about the experience here. This company continues to come up from time to time and I would LOVE to know if they are for real. The cars sound like something a lot of people would be interested in. ALL the car photos (complete cars) look like originals or replicas by someone else. None are sporting the wheels on that chassis. The chassis looks cool, but there does not seem to be any pics of anything beyond the point of the chassis build :-( Anyone have any more info???

I was in Paris in April and saw a PGO live. It was parked, so I had a chance to get an upclose look. In fact, the car looked exactly like the Speedster II shown on their website. From what I could see, the car was well built and look great (for being a wide body recreation). I believe it's build on a custom frame (like IM) b/c the stance of the vehicle was very different than the replicas we know and love here in the US.

I meant to mention earlier, I was particularly taken with the quality of the interior appointments, specifically the door panels look very complex and well made, as do the seats.
