WTB : Speedster seats

Looking for the original style speedster seats. I was hoping someone had a set that they were changing out.

I have a VS so ones out of a VS would be my first choice. Unless already done in black leather with black square weave on the back, color doesn't matter

I think so, but apparently no one has anything to offer you, , that leaves the normal suppliers.

Maybe that would get him to move to Miata seats in his car!

I have a set of black original style speedster seats that may be for sale - talking to someone now. The vinyl is in OK/good condition, but the carpet on the rear will need to be put back on properly along the edges. Tracks seem to be in good shape etc.
Can send pic's if interested.

Will these work in a VS? If so, I am planning to redo my interior in leather so I am not that particular on what the seats look like. I am more interested in the shell.

i built my seats from fiberglass versions (not plastic) of these seats. i reinforced them, added the base, tack strips, back holes and heated seat wiring holes, cut the foam, etc. i got them stitched at a local shop (for ~$600). It's much cheaper to buy VS seats, but i wanted custom fabric, and i added full 2 stage heated seat elements on back and bottom. carpet and binding on the back matches floor too.

D R - Although I have an extra set of 914 seats for back up - I'll probably use the Speedster ones so I can make it to Carlisle '09. Contact Dale on his - they are black but could use current cover for template if you wanted a different color. I looked at your pictures - the seats you have are the ones that fit wide butts and are more comfortable on long trips. They are what I want the 914 ones to look like down the road.

Gary - they are quite narrow (18-20") so will fit virtually anything --- 'cept a wide butt. 38" waist is a tight form fit!

I have 3 black vinyl covers (don't know why there are three) new. I would guess all of the trim pieces also for the seats if someone needs those. They look like the ones for the orginal CMC seats. In VA.

Gary - it would be a huge asset to this forum if you could take a picture of the front seat vinyl, or maybe make a pattern template?

I paid a lot of $$ to have mine redone and i feel it was something i could have done if i had a starting point.
