well let's see......just signed up for this web site today.

i have been looking for a car for YEARS.  i keep missing one by one or 2 phone calls, etc blah blah blah

i have owned a total of 4 356 going all the way back to a 1957.  the biggest mistake i ever made was selling my 356 hardtop cabriolet for $1200 with a bad engine that i didn't have the money to repair.  so that was in 1975-6..  so trying to relive those days.....................anyone got a not perfect but acceptable replica they would like to get out of their garage soon?

well let's look at it this way............a man who has been wandering around the desert for 10 years would like a nice cold beer but would settle for a cup of tea until a beer or a gin & tonic came along.

thanks

I recently bought from back east, people in California wanted too much.  Had to ship and still dealing with DMV.  I paid under 18k for 1983 IM.  It has nice 2005cc CB performance and great transmission.  It has some small issues but after getting used to driving it, Im begining to really dig it.  It hauls ass and people give me more attention than I expected.  I would get your money together and start offering.  These cars take a very dedicated owner so I think  you can get a good car for under 20k.  Guys pay a lot for them and then want to dump them. I scored on one that is as good as many I see at Beverly Hills Motor listed for around 30k

Don't let Beverly Hills Motorcars be  your litmus test. The cars you see on BHM for 30k, will STILL be on BHM in 6 months.  There is a black CMC speedster on their site that has been listed for 22k since December of last year. Who knows how long they have had that car, that's just when I stumbled across it.

Keep looking and the right car will find you.

thanks for the reply......i have been looking for so long that i am
beginning to know most of the 356 replicas that have been for sale in
the u.s. for the last 10 years. there is one "green" , as in very
irish green, that has been for sale forever. keeps turning up again
and again..was here in the seattle area for awhile, toyota or nissan
dealer for way too much $. disappeared for awhile and then park
place had it for months and now i see it again somewhere else. build
looks fine, so it must be the color. missed 3 or 4 by just
circumstances, had to work, had family emergency, etc. as the old
saying goes "a dollar short and a day late" problem being i am not
short of the $ but something always gets in line first for my attention.
