WTB CMC/ Fiberfab Californian style roll bar

  When I cleaned out my shop I gave a couple away to Ed Erickson and junked another 4 . They are head crackers and will serious bodily harm in an accident

Any contact info for Ed? I had a Californian some years back and sold it , only car out of many collectors cars I ever had regrets after parting with it. I owned the red Rotary engine powered roll up window CMC speedster that I have heard mentioned on this sight. Regardless of your warnings I would like to have a roll bar . Thanks in advance.

Jimmy- How about getting a roll bar built that will be functional; putting something in that you know may injure or even kill you doesn't seem like the wisest course of action, or am I missing something here? And please don't claim that having one custom made is too expensive, because that's just stupid. If you are able to play with a toy of this caliber you can afford this "extravagance". Al

I think I may have one with the mounts.  Give me a couple days I need to digg through storage.  I think it is in the back of the mess.

Hey guys, I was away for a few days. 

I have the two that Alan gave me still, intact. They look like they could be made "functional" (if not SCCA-legal) but not without some real thought and effort. Plus welding. DM if you want or need anything.

@Jimmy V.- Are you still intending for the bar to be decorative only? Will you give a disclaimer to everyone who goes for a ride that not only is the "roll bar" not functional, but could fold on impact and injure/kill them? How will you feel if, in said accident, the thing does fold and kills you passenger (who may be a good friend) but you survive? Do you want to take the financial hit if/when the family discovers this thread, finds out you knowingly created a "death trap" and sues your ass off?

I won't apologize if I make you uncomfortable; that's my intent. Please see the idiocy in this path and take the time and effort to make it functional.

I've got one, too!  Like that silly windshield frame or the egg-shell bodied car is gonna protect anyone in it in a roll-over.......

I don't think Al is out of line here.  He is seriously concerned about the safety of roll bars, and has stated his view - and his concern - clearly.

We all make our own decisions though.  Therefore, so be it.
