Have you seen prices for such on SAMBA and EBAY! Gulp. I'd love to see some one fabricate a replica windshield frame out of fiberglass with a steel or alloy core.
I need the same thing as well as a conv D top frame
my brother-in-law is a metal fabricator, If I could get enough interest, I could ask him to do up a few..clearly the more interest we could get the better the cost would be.
let me know...

I can get access to the casting molds but they are pricey. If you can get a set of speedster posts from stoddards for $150 bucks there is no reason why we couldn't make them for around the same. $1400 to $1500 for a crusty old windshield frame is nuts. you are looking at another $1000 just to strip and replate properly. rediculous! Simon, you have an intermeccanica...see if henry will sell you a complete set up.
I have a complete windshield , but have a buddy who wants one for his build.
Simon, I bought a new one from a place in the eastern US, its still in the box. I'll check today and see where I got it from and post it here, they may have more, they did when I bought. Was only about $200 I think plus shipping.

Paul, just a windshield.
Simon, place is Prosource Glass International http://prosourceglassintl.com/
Richard Tankel I think. He had some D windshields that had a very minor defect, a thin film that can only be seen in certain light conditions. For my purposes it was okay, but not if you are building a show car. He was selling them for about $200 or so apiece back then and would ship anywhere by UPS.

You'd have to check with Henry, there's an international code for the window that he uses on the D, can't recall what it is.

Thanks Scott, I'll pass this along.
My buddy has conv D posts (chrome) and top rail. He also has a new rubber bottom windshield seal and post seals. Hes looking for an honest offer. E-mail me if interested. p3561@msn.com
The Cabriolet has a painted steel frame that probably does far better to weather seal the top than the D Roadster. Look a Hoss's SAW Cabriolet for a sample. Seems someone with fiberglass capabilities could make a mold and reproduce it easier than the chromed D one. Would still need a steel interior frame but doesn't look impossible.
