Mine is a little rattly now that I think of it.
I put a bade on it which seemed to help a bit.
I think they can be had for $100 on eBay? Anyone know of a reputable seller for these things around that price range? I just don't wanna buy one that is going to fall apart.
I have one that I replaced on my Intermecannica. $25 plus shipping.

hbkmat, if your car is a CMC the VS and original style grille won't fit without reworking the deck lid.
Ya I know. I plan on cutting some glass before its painted.
If looking for an OEM one - it must be from a Speedster, Cabriolet or rare Notch back. The profile of the Coupe one is not correct shape. There were new CMC "chrome one (- but really just polished aluminum) on ebay out of Miami for ~$80.
I kinda like the look of the twin grills, are they the same size grills?or diferent?
The twin grills on the T6 B and C are the same size as the A...but the engine lid itself is considerably wider... Twin grills fabbed on to a speedster engine lid would look very odd.
I have a cmc grill in good shape if someone is interested.
I actually have twin grills on my CMC Speedster and like them. My deck lid is steel so my thoughts are it is a "real" lid, but i am not sure because I bought it that way from the previous owner. I will post a pic later.
Now that's INTERESTING
Being metal it's probably a T6 authentic 356 twin grill lid, and that the fiberglass turtleback has been modified to fit the wider lid...I would think a lot easier than modifying the lid to fit the opening.
If so, I'll bet it does look good...Post pictures.
Well I'll be darn!
That IS an A lid...and they certainly do look good...not "odd" at all.
Check the underside to see if there's indications (welding) of a non factory fabrication.
Correction....
The single grill B's (roadsters, cabriolets, 1960-61) also had the same dimentional engine lids as the A's. The single grill coupe lids of those years wouldn't fit.
Isn't that how the 356B Roadster was set up?
Lane
The 'B' Roadster, model year '60, '61...discontinued in'62... were all single grills.
Not Mine. Must be the CMC stash since in Miami. $50 for CMC new one. He also has other parts on ebay - like rear view mirror (windshield) for $34.50.
