Plus the matte black shows every little scrap or scratch. And there's nothing you can do to buff things out like traditional paint.
Yeah, but as brother Jim said, it looks good!

If it's an off the shelf automobile formulated paint, but simply a matte finish, why can't scratches be buffed out as they can be on a highly reflective auto paint ?
My speedster is black and very reflective... showcasing dust, water marks, and imprints of anything that touches it...plus it highlights wavy imperfection in flat panels such as the doors.
I think that non reflective matte finish is an attractive solution for an outlaw-ish replica...I like it.

thank you! I thought I was going to have to copy the entire script in there before someone would get it.
That car look sooooo bad-ass with the matte finish and those awesome wheels. That combo really really works!
Thanks Jim. Need to get an engine that reflects the "bad-ass" look at some point.

Carl,
The surface of matte paint isn’t smooth. There are actually lots of ridges and grooves in the paint that allow the reflection of light to scatter, giving it that dull look. So if you buff matte paint, it’s going to smooth out those intentional imperfections and create an unwanted shine.
Aaah yes, That makes sense Scott.
Maybe an artist Air Brush would come in handy to blend in scratches ?

Air brush...I wonder if that would work.
Scott,
An air brush's primary purpose in the studio is to 'blend' edges, or to smoothly graduate color tonal value (intensity) without leaving tell-tail brush marks.
A double action air brush like a Paasche that's controlling both pressure and volume with a single trigger (actually a button) can handle (transparent or opaque) water, oil, or acrylic based fluids.
Hi Jim,
Once you get your car, then it is time for shake down run. What do you say?
Count me in for that one Eddy!!!
Kirk says my car should be ready before end of this month, maybe sooner. I'll post under 'Events' for a shake-down cruise!
Jim, is this a new car?

Alright, Jimbo! Glad to see you never left. Waiting for pics.
He's not telling us anything, Marty. I asked him what he's doing for the engine and he wouldn't tell me anything!!! Secretive little sh1t...
I think it's because he got a Miata and He doesn't know how to break up with us.

Soo...any more pics, and when's delivery date, and how big is it's heart? Come on; just a hint....you know this is the part that's driving me crazy!
Waiting for exhaust from A-1 has been the delay. Hopefully pick it up this weekend, put some finishing touches to it, then post pics of finished product!
Promises but no details. Hmmmm....
Not even a little hint about the heart?????
The lone fact that it's getting an A1 sidewinder is simply not enough...!
