Looking for a hood handle for an early Speedster. '54 Build date. Was advised the car takes the early type speedster handle with the blunt end and not the "pointy" end of the later A handles.

Our Speedsters are fiberglass replicas of around 1957 cars. Most have hood handles of polished solid aluminum. For around $100 you could buy a replica pointy one - grind off point and polish it back up.

My understanding from talking to my good friend who works at a large vintage Porsche dealer in So Cal is that these Pre-A Blunt-end speedster hood handles are as rare as hen's teeth. Even more rare is the seal that typically sits against the blunt end. Not sure where one would find one of these.
I might check with Ric at Rusty Tubs (he has a lot of speedster stuff), or perhaps with Joe Ruiz (Mr. Okrasa). Either of these gents might be good leads.

Hood crest on mine (pointy) looks to be the same.
