I'm a new member to this forum and already have been enlightened in the area of speedsters. Have been looking for an IM or Beck for the last month and have missed out on a couple of sales, but I can feel a speedster in my future.

I'm 6'1" and assume I will fit but would like to know if if this would pose a problem.

Also, does anyone know about a payment method to ensure receipt of a shipped vehicle if the buyer is unable to physically pickup it up?

Finally, if anyone knows someone selling an IM or Beck, please keep me in mind and drop me an email as I would be interested. I would be willing to spend between $20K to $30K based, naturally, on the options and condition of the vehicle. I'm preferrably looking for a speedster on the west coast to keep shipping costs down.

Thanks and keep up the great dialog in this forum.

All of our factory serviced used cars have sold, but I have a used 08 speedster coming in on consignment the end of next week. under 10K miles, Raby built 90hp 1915cc, Espar gas heater, air conditioning, hidden lock box behind seat, hidden cup holder, high end stereo. Silver with black interior black top. It would be at the upper end of your budget though. We will go over it stem to stern and service anything that needs it before advertising it on our site.
Aloha Angela,

Thanks for the info, I didn't realize the emails may be trashed. I did email the guy back and got a response. I'm trying to find out if this is a tube frame or not. Apparently, he said it's a 1986 frame and I'm guessing it's a tube frame but am trying to confirm this through the VIN before making the trip to the outer island. Yeah, it's a hassle to go from island to island, not like jumping in a car and driving some great roads like on the "mainland."

Although I love my Beck, it's a fair-weather toy. Where you live, your car has the real potential if being a daily driver. Since it's tropical, you probably get frequent, but short rains that come on quickly. You also have a lot more sun and may want to drive with the top up more. If all of that is true, I can understand the desire for a roadster. I'll probably get flogged for saying this, but you might even consider a original coupe. The prices aren't as high as the convertibles.
Tom, You're right. You know I've never liked convertibles but it's kind of funny, as you get older you enjoy the simple things in life, good food, good dog, a car you can actually work on without hooking it up to a computer and the wind in your face!

Bill, I've been reading tubular chassis have more interior width and legroom than a VW based chassis (don't know as never have compared them). I do believe with all the salt air here, tubing/pipe would have a better chance of surviving the elements than sheetmetal. I'm actually hoping my daughter will someday enjoy this car and keep it in the family and thus the hunt for an IM or Beck.

Also important is a non-metallic bodied car. My choices are a vintage Corvette (pricy), 427 AC Cobra (I'd kill myself in this car!), or 356 (ya just look cool in this car, and guess what, it won't cost you an arm and a leg to have fun).
