Anyone have a tube frame IM for sale? A speedster or a Roadster. I prefer an incomplete car with no motor since I can paint and build motors.

Patrick,
I know of two Thunder Ranch rube frames ( different owners)that incorporate the rear torsion section of a VW suspension .

Is that the Beck? or is that totally different. I have seen Dale Bates car up and close and it is one of the cleanest IM's I have ever seen on a Tube chassis. He could use a type 4, but other than that is is sweet.
His car is the reason I was hoping for a newer IM

Thanks Pat, you should drive it sometime. I'm not sure about a T-4, Id have to talk to FAT PERFORMANCE in Orange,CA. They have been in the VW biz since the beginning. I'd really like a type 993.
Dale,
Your note on the 993 is really ringing my bell. I wonder what it is, the time of year or what but I sure could be talked into selling my 03 JPS if I found the right 993. I was at a car show today and parked next to a pristine 74 911S, white coupe, hmmmm. Know the people fairly well. They are from Grants Pass and have a 944 and a 912E plus the 911S. Wonder if they could be talked into trading even. They like my car, I like theirs except for the color, white with black interior.
They said they paid $13,000 for the 911S, don't know how long ago. He is 74 and probably needs a roadster, LOL. I know the 911 isn't a 993, but.........

FAT, I forgot about those guys and they are right in my backyard, well kind of.
I think I will look for a tubular IM and let the engine decision wait until later.
Maybe there is a VS with a T4.................................I could only be so lucky

Dale should definetly win the award for best black body on a speedster. Original or not that body is the smoothest speedster I have ever seen.

I thought Patrick would be back within 6 months..........
Henry is helping a client with the sale of a damn near new speedster that is falling prey to a wife's desire for a new home!
I received pictures and details as I was considering it for myself, but untill I iron the rest of the bugs out of my engine, I can't really sell it to anyone.
It is dark blue, 2332 Type1 with all the bells and whistles and worth a look for anyone who is serious about a well apointed speedster.

Theron, thank you. Anyone, I have some pics of the car Paul mentioned if you would like a couple, off list

Dale,
I would like to see pics of the car mentioned.
But, I would also like to see a happy yellow face next to your name and I don't mean mine.
Paul, I will consider your car, just don't fix the motor and I will buy it as a fixer upper.

Hey Patrick,
My car's fixer-upper price would be $35K. It comes with two sets of wheels and tires, all in great shape; I do want to keep my rally timer.
I think were I you, I'd look at Henry's client's car and consider paying another $5-10K to get the tube frame and a host of appointments that are tested and true!
Let me know if you want the whole poop sheet on the type 4 and related support and speed equipment in my Vintage.
