I've been looking around for a while and managed to miss out on a couple of busted up Speedsters on Ebay and I need a little help.

If anyone happens across a rear clip (mid wheel lip back is fine, door jam back is better) in repairable/almost ANY condition, would you please post it here for me?

Somewhere up here in the North East (I'm in Massachusetts) would be the best.

Just keep an eye out for me if you would.

Thanks ! !

"The $710 bid did not meet reserve."

Thanks for the heads-up, Wolfgang. I'll try to contact him through his ad. My wife told me that it went for the $700.00 or so, NOT that it never met it's reserve.

If it doesn't work out, I'll just keep looking. Something. somewhere is BOUND to turn up eventually.

".... sounds like a trailer in the making or "luv" seat ...."

I WISH that it were! I need it for the rear of my car. I can work with the inner panels as they are, or easily fabricate new, but I definately need the outer shell AT LEAST. A complete clip would be ideal, even if it needs extensive repairs.

I looked into getting a clip from the manufacturers, but the price + shipping would be more than a used up project car.

So, if you hear of anything (anything that you not already planning on using as furniture) please keep me in mind.

Thanks!

Ouch - can you post a picture of the damage? I thought most fiberglass damage was repairable even if left with puzzle pieces. That one on ebay in NJ didn't look that bad in the rear (but suspect lots of gelcoat cracks)--- said they were open for offers. The $711 bid did not meet reserve. Perhaps you could part it out - sell the trans, motor and recoup $500 or so (wasn't much else intact).

Thanks Alan,

I shot him a quick email just in case. I think that the shipping from Georgia might be a killer though. If he gets back to me and is willing to sell the rear for a set price rather than auction, I'll ask him to chop it up into shipable pieces and just re-assemble it here. Might work . . .
