I've seen pictures of a couple really nice SOC grill badges. Sadly, they were limited editions and no longer generally available. On the chance there are some still "out there" that might be for sale, I'm posting this WTB notice.

My "new" Beck Speedster came with a Maryland and Stuttgart grill badges. I live in Maine and have never been to Germany. I am a SOC member and would like to "show the colors". Speaking of "colors" a nice USMC or Masonic badge might be of interest....

Thanks.

This seller in India has pages of car badges - assume he produces them and these are left overs? I bought one years ago and it was new.  He has a wide-5 one, an outlaw road racing one and many others.  These are all reasonably priced ~$30 (compared to used ones from Germany for $500!).

Hoping  SOC one surfaces for you.  About time for a new artistic to volunteer to design and host producing a new one!

I like the Oak Leaf Cluster one!

Believe the red/orange one was done by Rich Drewek in mid-14.  It was limited to a run of 100.  The gold (un-enameled) one were limited to a run of 24.  Think the artists - Rich or Carl were going to custom paint them.  Rich offer those up in lat 2015.

Bill says its rough but the original finish is smooth and shinny gold looking.  Not sure what the base metal is but it hefty so not aluminum alloy or pot metal.  I'm guessing brass but it hasn't turned green or dull.  Not sure how it would weather in its natural state.  It matches the PORSCHE script gold perfectly.  I have one on my car but, of course, its a barn queen!

Hi Bill,

Do you have a picture, I’m not sure what a ready to color badge looks like. I was hooping to find one like I’ve seen here, SOC and welcome to the madness around the rim.

Thanks,

You did?  Then what the hell are you doing in Maine??  And don't tell me "Grandkids" brought you back - That's MY excuse!

You know, it's cold and very snowy in Maine, right?

I remember driving to L.L. Bean's in Freeport with my brother when he was home from the Air Force, probably Christmas-ish of 1968 or so.  The usual three-hour one-way trip turned into 6-1/2 hours getting there in a 4WD Bronco because we drove through a Blizzard that tracked us up the Maine Turnpike.  We finally get to Beans around 1:30 in the morning to find, like, three people working and us (This was the old store, now across the street and behind the mall from the new store).  After we bought our stuff, they gave us a 1 quart Bean thermos full of black coffee for our trip home to Mass. and a "Good Luck and drive safe!"  We got back home in time for breakfast and a tongue-lashing from our Mom.....

Moms are so practical...

I'll never forget that trip - we must have helped shovel out or tow out 10 cars along the way up.  My brother died a few years ago and last June we were helping his wife clean out the cellar of her house.  There, in a box of "stuff", was that same old Bean thermos, none the worse for wear.  I gave it to his son and told him the story.  Nice memento.......
