I want to get my hands on some of the special studs, one per adapter, that bolt into one of the hole on a 4 hole VW drum, hold on the adapter, and then is threaded to accept the Porsche 911 lug nut. Each adpater uses one of these. The other holes being filled with VW lug bolts to hold the adapter on (other three spots) or threaded studs to accept the Porsche lug nuts (4 spots).

Anyone have any or know of any sources?

Hmmmm...

Looking at the picture in the link above, if the diamter and threads are the same for both the VW and the Porsche lugs then you could just use a length of threaded rod (or couple extra long bolts cut off and threaded the full length) with a nut onto it. Thread the rod into the VW drum then the adapter on then the nut with some red loctite for insurance leaving enough of the rod sticking out for the wheel and lug nut. Should work if dia and thread are the same. I'll have to check.

Thanks!!
Google "automotion.com" or "performance products.com" both sell a wide variety of wheel adapters, studs, bolts, lug nuts, and wheel spacers for Porsche products. You may have to "invent" your own vehicle - I use parts for a '71 911S or a 914.

Stay away from standard thread - anything you use should be Grade 8 or better, from a reliable source (Chinese grade 8?).
Thanks Gordon...figured that would work. I've got 4 adapters and I'll use two for the front but I think I'll go with new drums with the Porsche pattern for the rear as I don't think I have the clearance back there. Have to check eventually.

Have to check on your source and see if they will do a small order of a couple lenths of rod to Canada. Some US suppliers won't.
I need help. Try as I might I can not locate a source in Canada for either the longer wheel studs, metric threaded rod or anything to make my Porsche adapters work. As well, no one will sell just the special studs.

McMaster-Carr does have the 300mm long, M14x1.5 rod and they do have M14x1.5 nuts as I need 2 of those too. I placed an order with them but it came back saying they will no longer ship outside of the US other than to long time established commercial customers.

Can anyone in the US give me a hand and order what I need and then mail up to me? At my cost of course. Please PP me if you can help me out at Brian_Puskas AT gov.nt.ca. There's one of our unique NWT polar bear shaped license plates (used, not new, but still in good condition) in it for whomever can help me out.

Thanks guys (and gals)

Brian
