Anyone out there have a good explanation on how to wire one up? I've got a junk unit that a friend supplied with 5 wires showing. Two wires connected to a battery gets it going, so I know it works. What about the other 3 wires?? I can't get them to do anything, regardless of how they are connected to the source. I've tried the three hooked both while running and by themselves. I looked breifly at a wiring diagram, but it wasn't much help. Anyone...???

Tim we bounced this around a while ago, look in the archives.
As I recall ,,,one is hot, one is ground, one is low speed, one is high speed, and the other controls a circuit that STOPS the blades in the same position each time. Any good electrician can put a meter to it and tell you in 5 minutes what is what.

Tim: Assuming you have a two speed switch, I ended up like this:
Black=Slow speed
Black/Yellow=Hi
Brown=Ground
There should also be a spade lug connector on the motor for a ground wire also.
Tape up the green and Black/white wires. These have something to do with the "park" circuit which for the life of me could not get to work.
