Nice rear end...both of them.
I like the front bumpers too.....
You mean the Dagmars?
At least she's not stepping on the paint. I'd give her some points for that.
Mabe we can talk Danny into bringing his scales to Carlisle again. BTW Leon, driving or towing?
As I will be single this trip, I'll be driving.... I'm trying to find a local facility to weigh the car, but no luck so far...
The drive to Carlisle should be a piece of cake compared to the drive back from Phoenix without a top.
Salt Lake City was the point of origin..... 1st week of October with off and on drizzle and temps in the mid 40's to mid 50's..... 1,983 miles.... Broke it up into a 5 day trip.... I now have a top AND side curtains, so Carlisle should be "a piece of cake"...
You will be in the lap of luxury, Leon.
I had no idea that you drove the Spyder from SLC to GA---is that what you did?
Wow! You are hankering for the iron butt title (maybe the cold/wet butt title).
Leon
Any mechanical issues on the trip? Does the suby power plant appear to be well sorted. With the front radiator does the car cool well? Did you get the stock SOHC 165hp suby engine? Was it from a donor or was it rebuilt? Do you have a 3.88 R&P. If so is it tachy at highway speeds? Thanks
Phil, When purchased the car had a clutch issue in that ALL clutch action ( read engage/release ) was in the last possible 1/2 inch of pedal travel. This was not a problem on the Interstates. The cooling was good with the engine never going over 175deg.
The engine was "built" and later chipped... The flywheel HP was 212 and after the chip session, rear wheel HP was 147. It utilizes a Street-Pro Freeway flyer Type 1 gear box with 3.88R&P on a Quaife limited slip differential. I believe 4th is a .82.
The engine revs about like you expect but the extra torque brings red line up very quickly. It idles at 800rpm with no hesitation on take off once warmed up.
Its a grocery getter rocket.... Best of both worlds? Maybe...
Jack, When it was "raining" I just sunk my butt into the seat, got below the windshield and put it on 65mph.... Very little rain problem if traffic kept moving...
Who was the manufacturer?
Vintage Spyders....Greg Leach. If you are refering to the car. I don't know about the Babe....
