I joined the SOC and I've been reading posts on this site for a few months now since I wanted to get a reproduction Speedster.  I’ve been trying to pick up on all the great info SOC members have written.

I searched around for the right Speedster for me as a newbie.  I spoke to Todd from FL when his Speedster was for sale, he offered some great advice but the timing was not right for me to get his car as I was dealing with some family issues.

I also spoke to and then met Syl and Maggie SOC members that live close to me in VA.  They both were very cool and Syl patiently answered all my newbie questions.

In the 70's I had a 67 Bug, a 914 that I loved, and a Triumph Spitfire GT-6 (lots of work but still a fun car).  In the 80's I had another Bug, and another Triumph Spitfire a 70 the rounded style rear and my last sports car my favorite a Lotus Europa SII (Renault powered).  I like tinkering and working on these older cars.

Last month I had a chance to check out Special Edition/Beck in Bremen IN.  I met Carey and Kevin, they gave me and some family members the grand tour and let me drive 3 of the used Speedsters they had.  Like Goldilocks and the Three Bears one was too small engine wise, one was too big and one was just right.  Thanks to Carey and Kevin again for all their help.

So now I have joined the Madness.

Waiting for delivery is the hardest part.   I'll wait until it's delivered to show which one it is.

Thanks Guys

TUB4STU, You got it...I'd had my eye on the GT Silver one and had spoken to Carey about it but wanted to test drive it and see it first hand.

Thought you might enjoy guessing which one.  Someone on the SOC posted about waiting it is the hardest part.  Well I hope that my DMV is not hard....Shouldn't be.

PETE U CANN YOUR PICS TO THE POST AS LARGE SO THEY SHOW IMMEDIATELY

Agreed, Carey and Kevin were so cool. They spent time with me and some of my family members from Chicago we met there.  It was on a beautiful Saturday and I know they also had plans to do some power boating but hung in there answering all my questions and working a deal with me.  Loved seeing their facility so many cool cars at one stage or another.

Thanks NG I saw that you could post the pic's in that way.

Hey Alan,

Thank you for the invite.  Ann and I may do so. Not sure of our football schedule for my sons home games at VMI (He's not a player). He's a senior this year and we want to try to go down to Lexington to see VMI home games and my son.

Hopefully I'll have my car soon we're just waiting for a delivery date from IN.  I hope to get the Title in Z mail today and then I can start the VA DMV paper work.

Thanks again,

Pete

Oh, yes Alan I do agree.  That I shall do.  Carey got back to me right away those guys, Carey & Kevin are the best.  I think Kevin has a solution to the problem that the VA DMV I went to had.  The IN title had the word Rebuilt Vehicle on it and in IN that means something different then it does in VA.  To VA's DMV it means a Salvaged Vehicle.   To the DMV I went to  it meant I'd have to go down the road to Richmond to sort it out. Kevin may have a document to hopefully clear this up.

BTW everything is on the up and up (I was reading here where it was best to close down this type of topic) it's just an issue that needs some clarification for our VA DMV.

I appreciate your advice and Syl also gave similar advice as have others when I was reading various post on it.  It's just a matter of talking to someone who will take the time to understand what this type of vehicle is and follow the VA law on it.

Thanks guys,
