OK,
Somebody has to suggest it.
Yellow!
Sure it doesn't match your interior, but who cares! Nothing say's "I am a manly man" then driving around in a car painted yellow.
well...
except maybe black, ...or silver.... or red or blue.
I still like yellow. (more so when I painted it 10 years ago and there weren't any yellow cars on the road.)
You really can't go wrong, the speedster is such a timeless shape, that any of the aforementioned colors (yes, even yellow) look great.

My favorites with a tan interior are Meissen blue and Auratium green.

Both very classy in combo with the tan.

Attaboy Rob! I'm driving a yellow one also. I agree that a Speedster looks good in just about any color. I even like Paul Newmans' faded blue with brown primer from the movie 'Harper'.

Greg, very Nice, I like the tan seats/dash with the black carpet!

I never liked black cars, never! Then I saw a black one, nothing showes off the timeless lines of a classic like basic black. Be it a 32 coupe or a speedster. JMHO Eddie
P.S. I still hate black cars, but I now own one.

Eddie, I read you loud and clear. I love mine but will NEVER have another Black car.
Thanks for all the input! I have been out of town for a few days and what a response. I am leaning toward the darker blues. The only thing I dislike about the darker colors is the ever present wax residue. It seems like you can never get all of it.

anyone has a color code for the "semi correct" silver metallic or was it metallic at all on originals?
How about a deep burgundy with your tan interior? Don't see many of them... and think of all the fun you will have emptying all those bottles of wine until you find one with the exact color you want to match.

David - You got a paint code for that?

Ben - the code is S!##)&%>*#!t. And don't add to much *E&^%)T to the first stage.
Black is difficult to keep clean, reflects sags and waves in doors & other flat surfaces like a fun house mirror and gets "swirls" easily, but John Leader seems to have all of that under control.
Silver is very nice. But UV rays deteriorate it rapidly and it's difficult for some people to see at dusk, ask James Dean. And birds seem to think it's a good place to leave deposits.
Red's my favorite for a small car. It's visible to ladies in SUV's even with advance nightblindness, and birds seem to avoid crapping on it.

Bill,
I have a bright Red Speedster and they are not immune to bird droppings but guess that is what car covers are for, that and garages.
Red is more visible but still have your headlites on, any thing helps on todays roads.

Stacey, a few years ago, Henry, at Intermeccanica, made that exact color/interior combo. It was VERY nice. Car went to someone in Florida. Next to dark blue with a dark tan interior, that's my next choice.

I had thought of the maroon and tan. Someone here put together a cool little film and there was there was one in there. Pretty cool! Wish I had a good picture of it.

Ben, that might have been mine.

Well, Ben, Whatever you do, make sure the interior is black...Wait a minute; you already traded your black interior to ME!! Feel free to follow the lead though, as someone already pointed out, the reason I traded with you was because my wife wanted black. This thread actually caught me right in the middle of the carpet installation; two more pieces of floor carpet and it's on to the top! Thanks again for the trade, and as for your paint color, it looks like you'll need a neural-network to sort out all the data posted here...

Ben,
If you have seen the pic's from Carlile, than you have seen the
Coral colored speedster...If someone would have recommended that color
to you, you probably would have laughed at them. But it is as good
looking as all the rest, maybe better, cause there isn't another like it....What am I trying to say, well, It doesn't make a damn bit of difference what colors you choose, it will be cool......
Although I think I'd stay away from a purple interior with the coral
exterior....
I have Ivory as my color, Went to Vintage last week, saw Kirk building
at least 5 Ivory speedsters, I told him to stop offering Ivory as a
choice.....He probably won't listen to me...........

Tony's Coral Speedy from Carlisle.
Look closely and you'll see cat tracks up the hood and onto the windshield (painted on) and his wife stitched cat's paws into the interior trim and onto the seat backs. The wheel center caps have cat's paws as well.......
That car was LOADED with trick custom touches, the color was very different for a Speedster, but really a knockout at the show - drew a lot of attention, not only from the color, but from the custom touches as well. VERY nicely done!
Another was Kelley's car - I never met her, but her car was awesome! VERY trick paint and graphics, a custom interior to die for, and a really cool license plate: "MYBROOOM"

Ron- thanks for the pics. It does look as good as I remember. I have pretty much narrowed to the burgandy or dark blue. Just a bit more sanding to do ...
Coral...Hmmm... your right, never would have thought of that one. Does look good though.
How about flames? Anyone ever seen a speedster with flames? Not the bright ons, I'm talking ghost flames. Nothing wild, just nice simple flames.

Ron L., That's the color. What a beautiful car and color combo. If there is ever a "next Speedster" or a re-paint in my future that color combination currently ranks # 1.
Ben:
Check the Carlisle pictures. Someone (can't remember his name) had a candy-apple red metallic Speedster with ghost flames a half-shade lighter than the base color and in metallic, too. Awesome.
In fact, Awesome doesn't come close to describing some of those cars, and I'm sure the Knott's cars were just as well done.
We have one hell of a group of car builders on this forum.

My other car, the road yaut, is 3 stage white pearl with a pink /blue ,flip/flop paint in the early morning, depending on the angle it hints of pail pink form one angle, and walking around the car it flips to a hint of pail blue. and brite white in full sun.

The Speedster with the ghost flames belongs to Matt Haugh.
You can look him up in the registry to see photos of the car. Loved the "IN FLAMZ" personalized license plate.

Thanks for the compliments guys. My brother Ron thinks it's brown, but he is so old he only sees in black and white now....
