Zymol Wax

I wanted to make a quick post to share the results of using Zymol Rouge wax on my car. I discovered Zymol when I was looking for wax for black cars — for my RSA. I loved it because it is high % carnuba, and it didn’t leave white residue everywhere. It lasts well.

So, I gave the Rouge a chance on my new car. It has a tint that is meant to fill any gaps or swirl marks. Mine doesn’t have swirl marks because I haven’t added any. Haha. But little hairline scratches happen.

Anyway, the tint actually enhanced the unique tone of the Signal Red. Signal Red has an almost faded red quality to it. The wax works great on that effect, IMO.

I used to use Zymol on my Alfa. Good stuff. But carnuba wax is so last century.

I haven’t done the Spyder with the ONR/HyperCoat yet, but based on the 2 hours start to finish it took to do the 968, including the wheels, tires, windows and interior, I’m guessing it would take 30-45 minutes.

+1 to carnuba being a bit old school. I'll use a wipe on SiO2 spray sealant for a quick job (griots ceramic 3-in-1), or a ceramic wash supplement (gyeon quartz wet coat).

I do think carnuba sometimes will have advantages like a filler for swirls and hairline scratches, but it kinda ends there.
